Styles of Effective Text

Travel Blog:
The first text I found was a travel blog. I found this writing style effective because I liked the headings as a layout. It meant that you could specify the parts that you found interesting and read those parts. I also liked how the language was persuasive and detailed. I think this made you a lot more likely to take the articles advice.

Film Review:
The second text I found was a review. I found this style effective as it had an informal edge. I liked this as it made the article more relatable and added more opinion to the review so you were likely to take on board what it was saying. In addition, I thought the writing style was effective as it used similies and metaphors to compare to other films that you may have previously watched and you were able to form your own opinion.
BBC news article:

I thought this article was effective as the tone of the article reflected the seriousness of the issue in hand. It used a lot of terminology and statistics which made the style more factual and made you believe that what you were reading was reliable. The writing style was made up of many short paragraphs which could have the effect of the reader not losing interest.
